It's kind of love-hate situation when you find new local places to spend your Friday nights. On one hand you love that you have discovered a fresh new scene but at the same time you're kicking yourself in the rear because you're wondering why you didn't know about it sooner.
My friends and I went to Jazz Club Firenze last night to see a live Cuban music by a band called Perfidia Quintet. They played classic old Cuban music from the 30's and 40's. It reminded me a little of Buena Vista Social Club but better! I found out that my new favorite place also hosts flamenco performers and blues singers. I guess I can thank our local newspaper The Florentine for this one. Gracias/Grazie cari redattori, (dear editors) for letting me know about this little piece of Havana in Firenze. Now I just have to take C there!
