Picnis and Parks Galore

This weekend we ventured to not one but TWO parks.
With our friends M & A, we explored the Parco Mediceo. The park itself felt like it was at least 30+ acres big. It was so relaxing. A even brought his American football and tossed it around with C.

with tons of food.

In the background you can see the hills and mountains of Tuscany.

There were even little ponds.

On the other park day, we ventured to Cascine park on our bikes and frequented the Pavoniere city pool.

We got to the pool at 11:30am, which we thought would be early enough to grab chairs. We were wrong. All the lounge chairs were finite (finished/taken) at that point so we just used our towels. For a city pool, it's actually pretty nice. It's well maintained and clean. The best part is that the kiddy pool is seperate from the adult pool, so we didn't have to be near all the screaming kids.

Holler at ya

All I ever do is blog about what I do on the weekends. I'm so lame, I know.. I can never think of any other good stories or anything creative to put on here. Blah. Anyway, the picture above is of MS and C on our terrace while cooking out. Sunday night we decided to have a barbecue-baseball night so that the boys could watch some Phillie's game (I think). While they did that, I watched Million Dollar Baby. I of COURSE took part in the dining (hot dogs + potato salad= yum) but did my own thang while the boys talked and viewed the nonsense. I mean the game.
On Saturday, C and I went to the spiaggie bianche (white beaches) in Rosignano. I'm so glad that DM introduced this magical beach to me. It's spacious, clean, and most of all it has beautiful water and white white sand. The only downside was that we were attacked by about a hundred men who were all selling either coconut, sunglasses, or paddle ball rackets, all within the first hour we were there. We finally just had to put on our headphones and act like we were asleep so they'd leave us alone!Sunday, May 10, 2009
Numbers
C drew this of himself while not looking at a picture of himself OR in the mirror. Pretty amazing, right? It looks JUST like him.
Here's my weekend in numbers:
1 is the number of naked women I saw. We saw an interpretive theater performance that consisted of about 20 hesitant audience participants and one naked woman who would prance around them with a confused look on her face. She would cough on them, run into them, etc, all while completely naked. It was bizarre and I don't think ANYone in the audience understood the purpose of the interpretation.
2 is the number of times I listed to Flo Rida's "Get Low" song while working out Saturday.
3 is the amount of veggie samosas I had while eating Indian food Saturday night.
4 is the number of hours I spent in the sun. :)
5 is the number of how many different friends I spent time this weekend.

A Man's Best Friend
My trip to the beach on Monday proved to be fruitful. Not only did I get to relax on the beach with friends, but the day trip reaffirmed my wholehearted desire for a furry canine of my own. Rosalita, the cute, cuddly French Bulldog was the star of our trip. She stole the stage as she pounced around, flirting with the sand and chasing fellow friends. Dogs really are a man's best friend because...Weekend Stuff

This weekend we went to the market in Piazza di Santo Spirito. This particular monthly market boasts everything from vintage photos to clothes to furniture to food! It was such nice weather and a perfect day for a stroll through the market.

C took this photo on our Sunday stroll because we both love Fiat 500's. Isn't it cute?
- In case you were wondering, I showed some other friends the shiny silver hat from below and got really bad reactions from them. I took it with me to the beach (Rosignano) on Monday and all five girls said, "why did you buy THAT hat?" So I guess that it's not just C who thinks I have awful taste! Ha ha. I like to think that it's very Sarah Jessica Parker-ish- that's all. What's important is that I like it.
- I will be in Greece in 9 days with my love and my parents. Wooh-hooh! Looking at this website makes me want leave today and not wait a day longer.
- Next week, the movies Gran Torino and Milk are coming to Floville. I really want to see both.

Did you know..
....that I came home yesterday with three new hats and my hushand hates every single one of them? I don't care though, I'm wearing all of them... maybe even at the same time! ha! ;) He sort of likes the middle one but according to him, the black one on the far left and the one on the far right are "euro trash" and "so out of style." He says that "no one even wears baseball caps anymore." I totally disagree and 1. think that baseball caps will never go out of style and 2. think they are the perfect accessory to my new black and purple bikinis (not pictured). That's why I bought them anyway.. to protect my face while I'm laying out! I already have a sunspot on my face and I'm only 29. Sigh.
..... that here, Elle magazines in English cost 8 euros and 50 cents? That's almost eleven dollars, folks, all for a magazine in English. And my Mom wonders why I drool when she brings me Us Weekly's and other trash in English! (By the way, I did not spend that on this magazine. It was a hand-me-down from a friend who actually pays that for magazines here).
.. that if you don't securely tighten these Ikea umbrellas that they will blow away.. and away... and away..?? This actually happened to us yesterday. Luckly, instead of falling five floors on to one of the old people who live on our street, it blew on to our neighbors terrace. So, no one was hurt. But we were lucky!

It's all Fantasy
What are three guys doing in front if their laptops on a Saturday night? Fantasy Baseball, of course. I mean, what else could they be doing?? Please shoot me if I ever spend a Saturday night choosing fake players for a fake game. Ha, ha. :)

Weekend Junk
This weekend, we woke up to two wet and dreary days. We spent most of our time indoors, except for Friday night's pizza and then live music. We ventured out on Saturday to the supermarket and gym, but the majority of the time was spent relaxing at home.
On Sunday I had some errands to run and am glad I got out of the house. If I didn't, I wouldn't have found this lovely mirror at the montly antique market. You can't tell in the picture, but it's red with gold borders. I think this makes mirror #6 or 7 for my collection. I adore the shape and size of it. The man told me that it's from the 1950's. I can't wait to hang it on my .. oh, wait.. my imaginary mirror collage wall.
