Dog Ownership 101

This weekend we had the pleasure of learning the in's and out's of dog ownership with two short days of dog-sitting. We were responsible for the only dog I know with her own Facebook page, Florence's very own Rosalita Parks. We already knew that Rosalita was a sweet and extremely loyal dog. But we didn't know she was also exceptionally charming. In the picture above, she is submissively reacting to a male dalmation that you can't see in the picture.

From the minute she saw him, she stopped in the middle of the street and just stared at him. It was so funny. People walking by were stopping and asking us what she was doing. We really didn't know what to say. We think she was flirting but we're not sure.

Another favorite was the way she would sit on our couch. It's like she couldn't decide if she wanted to commit to sitting and wasn't sure if she should stand or not!

This is her "head over her left shoulder" pose as she stares at the birds on our terrace.

Overall, it was a great learning experience and we are officially convinced we're ready for our own. The only time we screwed up was when I took her out for a walk and forgot to bring the plastic bags to pick up after her. So, I had to frantically grab paper towels from the nearby restaurant where she chose to do her business. Baby steps...baby steps..
