As I mentioned in an earlier post, Chris surprised me on my 29th birthday in August and took me to Positano. He had tricked me in July by "accidentally" slipping and told me we were going to Sicily. I was kind of bummed because I really wanted it to be surprise. In the end it WAS a surprise because he "slipped up" on purpose to throw me off! Sneaky...
We stayed at a great hotel-I highly recommend Casa Cosenza for a lovely accomodation and wonderful views of the sea. The owners are extremely hospitable and were always asking us if our needs were being met. The rooms were spotless and we were given excellent restaurant recommendations. (Of course, C did his homework before booking and checked out all the reviews on Trip Advisor). Thanks to the owners of Casa Cosenza, we ate EXTREMELY well- I vividly remember almost all my meals there. We ate at La Gavitella for my birthday, which had amazing fresh seafood. I had a yummy spaghetti alla vongole (clams) with lemon. YUM. You have to take a short boat ride from Positano which is nice because you get to see more of the Amalfi Coast this way. We also ate at Da Vincenzo which was also wonderful.

If you're looking for a romantic getaway and unforgettable meals on the breathtaking Amalfi Coast, I strongly recommend going to Positano. (Sorrento is nice, too, but Positano is more characteristic and quaint).
